When you first log into BOATPro, you will see a empty space for your personal dashboard:
If you don't know how to create reports yet then don't worry. Here are the guides you need to get started:
You can also take one of our product tours to familiarise yourself with the platform:
Once you have created some widget reports, you will see them stored in your Saved Widgets List in the navigation:
You can navigate to your dashboard at any time using the Dashboard link shown in the navigation above.
Adding widgets to your dashboard
First, select the Edit Dashboard option:
Then select 'Add Widgets' to bring up a list of widgets you can choose from:
The widgets list will appear in a popup window. The list is sorted by most recent widgets first, but you can change the sort order using the dropdown menu on the top right hand side of the popup:
Tick the widgets you would like to see in your dashboard, and you will see the tick icon colour change to black. You can scroll up and down through the full list. Once you are happy with your selection, choose 'Save' (N.B. You can add a maximum of twelve widgets to a dashboard, and you will see a warning message if you exceed this):
You will then see a series of tiles representing the different widgets. You can drag the widgets by clicking and dragging them above or below each other. You can resize charts by clicking and dragging on the corner or side of the chart. We treat the different widget types in different ways:
Tables - these can only be full width
Charts - these can be half-width, three-quarter width or full-width
Scorecards - these are always the same size, and can be stacked horizontally or vertically
This gives you the flexibility to display data in different ways depending on your requirements. You can see a running total of the number of widgets used and remaining in your dashboard on the top-right hand side, and when you are happy select Save:
The tiles will be replaced by the tables, charts and scorecards themselves:
Updating your dashboard
Any widgets that have rolling date ranges or future dates will update automatically when new data appears in the database. Widgets with fixed dates in the past will not change. You can click on any widget and edit it at any point. You can change the layout or selection of widgets at any time by selected 'Edit Dashboard' again.
